Martin Luther King, Jr., an American clergyman, activist and prominent leader in the African-American civil rights movement was born January 15th, 1929. The libraries in the Crawford County Library System will be closed Thursday, Dcember 24th and Friday, December 25th for Christmas. The libraries that are normally open on Saturday and Sunday WILL be open. We will also be closed December 31st and January 1st for the New Year Holiday. We are sorry for any inconvienence.

We Are Now on Facebook
For those of you out there who are on Facebook, all of the Crawford County Library System libraries have pages on Facebook! You can become a fan of the county library system itself, find your individual library, or become a fan of all of them! Keep up to date with the latest happenings, events and news at your library. The Van Buren library has even created a page for their teens.
Just go to Facebook and search for your library's name, for example: Mountainburg Public Library; and our page should show up in the results.

Downloadable Audiobooks
Have you tried our new downloadable audiobooks services? If you like to listen to books while on the go or at your desk then this is for you. We have two different services available, NetLibrary and Arkansas Library2Go through Overdrive.
NetLibrary
With NetLibrary you must first set up your online account at any Crawford County Library System library through our website. Then you can log in to your account and download audibooks from home.
1. Visit, http://www.crawfordcountylib.org
2. Click on the link that says, "Online Resources"
3. Under the heading, "Online Databases", click on NetLibrary
4. In the top right hand corner of the screen you will see, "Create a Free Account". Follow the instructions.
Arkansas Library2Go - Overdrive
You will need to access Overdrive and download the media console to your home computer. These titles cannot be downloaded to a library computer
1. Visit http://www.crawfordcountylib.org, Click on the link that says, "Online Resources", Under the heading, "Online Databases" click on Overdrive
2. You will need to login, your user id will be your CCLS library card number (the numbers under the barcode on the back of your blue library card) and your password is your 4 digit library PIN number. Don't have a PIN number? You will need to call or come by the library and we'll set that up for you.

Get the most important card you’ll ever own...your library card! There is no time like the present to sign up at your local library and start checking out books, audio books, DVD’s, CD’s, downloadable audio books, online reference databases and much more. And best of all, it’s free as long as you live or work in Crawford County. Bring an item that lists your current address and those under 18 must have a parent or guardian signature. As a special incentive to sign up, all those getting a new library card can enter a drawing for prizes. Check with your local library for details.

Teens can now voice their choice for their favorite books by voting in YALSA's (Young Adult Library Services Association) annual Teens' Top Ten poll! Voting is open now through September 18th at www.ala.org/teenstopten The winners will be announced in a webcast during Teen Read Week, Oct. 18-24.
This is the only booklist chosen entirely by teens ------- so every vote counts!

Basketball Tournament Fundraiser
There will be a Men's Basketball Tournament, April 23rd - 26th to raise money for the purchase of brick for the new Cedarville Public Library. Cost is 100.00 per team and the tournament will take place at the Cedarville High School Gym. Come shoot some hoops and raise money for a good cause!

Cedarville Library Auction and Call for Donations
The Cedarville Community Association is collecting items for an auction to raise money for the brick on the new Cedarville Library. They ask that you remember that this is a fundraiser for the library and that they need your "Good Junk". Items may be dropped off at the library, 639 Pirates Way, Monday - Friday from 9:30am - 5:30pm.
The Auction will be held Saturday, April 18th. Viewing time will open at 8:00 a.m. and auction will begin at 10:00 a.m.
