Teen voluteers will provide free, drop-in homework assistance to K-6 grade students this Fall on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00pm starting September 2nd and ending November 18th.

Note:  No Homework Help on 9/7, 10/12, 10/26, 11/11.

If you wish to volunteer, pick up an application at the library. You must be willing to commit to volunteering during the Fall semester. Training for volunteer Homework Helpers will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 3:30pm. Sponsored by Tracy Friends of the Library.

Enter a raffle to win a gift basket of books, movie tickets & snacks by reading and reviewing as many of the Teens' Top Ten books as you can. Each short review will count as an entry into the raffle. There are 24 books nominated for this year's Teen Top Ten, so that means there are 24 chances to enter!

The list of nominated titles (linked below) and review sheets will be available in the Teen Area of the library starting August 15th. Submit to suggestion box in Teen Area. Winners will be contacted on Monday, October 19, 2015 (during Teen Read Week).

Learn to be a pawn star at the library's chess club! Join us as Chess Master Richard Beale leads the club in teaching and understanding chess strategies. All ages are welcome to participate in the instruction and playing, which begins at noon, and runs until 2 p.m. every Saturday. The Tracy Library Chess Club is a USCF (United States Chess Federation) affiliate.

For 9th to 12th graders. Do you want to know what the ACT is like? Take a full practice ACT exam at the library, get your score on the spot, and you will find out where you need to focus your studies. Space is limted to 40 students.
