With so many options available for smart phones, tablets, and e-readers, it's easy to get overwhelmed. Your local library staff is here to help! Need assistance with downloading e-books, connecting to social media, or simply understanding how your device works? We'll help you discover how to get the most out of your technology. Also, we can provide instruction and clarification on computers and computer programs using our mobile lab, when the mobile lab is available. Sponsored by Friends of the Manteca Library.

The TLC is a group of high school students who want to make an impact on their local library.  In the past they have planned a number of programs such as an ongoing SAT workshop, a workshop for the Futre Health Professionals of America academic contest, and Holiday-themed teen programs.  The TLC also suggests tiltles for the Library's collection and creates themed displays in the Library's Teen Zone.  They are an enthusiastic group of young people who are passionate about creating a positive space for teens in the Library.  The group is looking for new members to welcome for the new school year. Volunteers from V.I.T.A. assist patrons with tax preparation and questions. Walk-ins, no appointment.
On Mondays, 12 pm - 5 pm, and Saturdays, 10 am - 5 pm, beginning January 23rd until April 10th.
Must have the following items:
  • Proof of identification (photo ID)

  • Social Security cards for you, your spouse and dependents 

  • An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) assignment letter may be substituted for you, your spouse and your dependents if you do not have a Social Security number

  • All Forms 1095-A/B/C, Health Insurance Statements (Health Insurance Exemption Certificate, if received)

  • Proof of foreign status, if applying for an ITIN

  • Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents on the tax return

  • Wage and earning statements (Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R,1099-Misc) from all employers

  • Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)

  • A copy of last year’s federal and state returns, if available

  • Proof of bank account routing and account numbers for direct deposit such as a blank check

  • To file taxes electronically on a married-filing-joint tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms

  • Total paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider's tax identifying number such as their Social Security number or business Employer Identification Number

  • Copies of income transcripts from IRS and state, if applicable

Estate planning attorney Julie Richardson will present this free and easy-to-understand seminar. Learn how trusts and wills can ensure your assets are distributed the way you choose. Includes a power of attorney and an advance health care directive to complete the estate planning process. For parents with minor children, it also includes the nomination of a guardian, to designate whom they want to care for their children if they cannot.

Estate planning is for everyone. This program will assist in making legal issues simple and understandable, so that people can make responsible and intelligent decisions.
