Kick off the start of Summer Reading with cowgirl comedian Karen Quest.  This is a unique fun-filled Vaudeville-style Western Comedy Act complete with Trick Roping, Whip Cracking, Music, and Lots of Surprises!  The show will be held in Library Park across the parking lot from the library entrance.  There will be two showings held at 1:30 and 3:00 pm. Craft gurus from gogo crafts based in SF will be showing teens how to make their own light up superhero t-shirts with LED lights.  Teens can learn about how electricity is harnessed and create a one of a kind t-shirt at the same time. This is a no-sew project.  All supplies will be provided.  There is a cap of 25 and teens can sign up at the Library beforehand for a spot. Sponsored by Friends of the Manteca Library.

This program is led by a farm owner and business woman who brings different types of herbs for adults to see and teaches participants how to benefit from them. Thre are lots of hands on activities. She encourages touching and smelling and will pass around many herbs for people to smell, see, and feel. Also, she allows participants to plant an herb to take home and brings hand made products. The herbs she brings for demonstration are for sale at the conclusion of the program.  Sponsored by Friends of the Manteca Library.
