In support of Black History Month, the Maya Angelou Branch Library will host "African Americans and the Quest for Voting Rights" on Tuesday, February 16 at 6:00 pm. Professor Evan Wade will present a historical and cultural program on the African American right to vote. Evan Wade is a professor of history at San Joaquin Delta College and is the advisor for the Delta College Black Student Union.  Professor Wade's program has added significance during this pivotal year of a presidential election. Students should check with their instructors about earning credit for participating in this program. Sponsored by Friends of the Stockton Public Library.
