MakerSpace for Kids is a drop-in program where kids age 8 and up can explore and create freely. We have laptops that can be used to paint, to code, to practice typing, and more. Art materials will be available as well as basic and not-so-basic craft supplies. Also, the 3D printer will be running during the entire program! Suitable for kids 8 and up. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Sponsored by Friends of the Ripon Memorial Library.

Beginner's level yoga and Pilates class will help you relax and renew your body and spirit! Taught by certified instructor, Susan McClanahan, this weekly class has been offered for over 10 years and continues to draw new participants! Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat. Enter at side of library building if you arrive after 6:00 p.m. Donation optional, given to the Friends of the Ripon Memorial Library. Sponsored by Friends of the Ripon Memorial Library.

For the next few months on the fourth Thursday, we have a S.T.E.A.M. program planned that will focus on the A—the A that stands for ART! Learn about various art techniques, principles, and concepts during this STEAM-driven art program. This 30-40 minute program features reading aloud, movement, fingerplays, songs and fun for all. Once a month, we have special crafts or a simple science-based storytime. There are always plenty of books to borrow with the storytime theme. Sponsored by Friends of the Ripon Memorial Library.

Lego (TM) Club for Kids is a drop-in program that allows kids to make Lego creations with Legos provided by the library. We give the children a theme to spark their creativity and they can spend an hour building whatever their imagination conjures. It's a fun, non-competative afternoon activity for the whole family! Each meeting we decide as a group what type of book we will read and discuss the next meeting. Then we each choose our own title to fit the criteria. Then we meet again to discuss why we choose what we read, what we liked or disliked, themes...and choose a new topic. Feel free to join at any time! Book Discussion Group meets once a month, on the second Thursday at 6:00 p.m. (unless noted). The book selections are made by the librarian, to ensure that there are plenty of copies.  If you are interested in joining please come in, meet the librarian and get a copy of the "next" book and questions. Be prepared for a lively exchange of ideas and insightful ruminations that will make reading a book a "shared and enriching" experience!
