Monday, Oct. 17, 6:00 p.m.
This special event is part of the SSJCPL annual "One Book One San Joaquin" program featuring the book "The Book of Unknown Americans", which centers on an immigrant family. Small groups of program attendees will be able to "check out" a real person and hear their story of the experience they have had as an immigrant. We will have 6 "human books" to listen to, learn from and ask questions in 30-minute cycles. During the program there should be time to hear at least 3 of the human books. This enriching program is based on the Human Library Project which started in Denmark in the year 2000. It has been replicated, enhanced and adapted by many civic groups, schools and libraries worldwide and we are excited to be a part of it.  Sponsored by Library and Literacy Foundation for San Joaquin County, Friends of the Stockton Library, Friends of the Ripon Library, UOP, Lodi Public Library.
