The Mountain House Chess Club meets at the Mountain House Branch Library on Saturday from 3:00pm-4:30pm.  The club is open to 8 year olds and above.  The participants receive instruction and practice playing.  Resources are available to help with additional learning outside of club play.  Join them.  Equipment supplied. In honor of National Poetry Month, the Mountain House Branch Library is running its 3rd Annual Teen Poetry Contest! Competition opens April 1, 2015 and continues until 5:00 pm April 26, 2015. Participants should be between 12-19 years old and have an SSJCPL card in good standing. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places by May 4, 2015. The Mountain House Branch Library will offer FREE computer classes on the following dates and times:

•           Monday, April 27, 2015 – Beginning MS Word 2010 - from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
•           Tuesday, April 28, 2015 - Beginning MS Excel 2010 - from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
•           Monday, May 4, 2015 – Creating a Professional Resume Using Templates - from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
•           Tuesday, May 5, 2015 - Google Searching - from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.


Patrons must have basic computer skills (such as how to use a mouse and a keyboard) prior to attending these classes. Any computer-related questions can be asked in the Open Questions class, in which patrons are encouraged to come in with questions and bring their own devices. Please check with the Mountain House library staff for class space availability if you are interested in attending any of these classes.
