Genealogy Presentati
Main Library
Thursday, Sep. 1, 6:30-8 PM

Have you ever wanted to research your family tree?  Find out more about your ancestors?  Dr. Karen Gold will talk about using resources on the Web and through your library to find out more about your ancestors.  Come to the presentation, and make an appointment to have an individual consultation in the library.

Successful genealogical research requires the coordination of a variety of skills.  Basic skills include development of clear research questions, access to primary and secondary reference material, collection and organization of materials, quality control and confirmation of findings.   These topics will be covered in this talk including an introduction to accessing reference material using Ancestry.com, which is available as a library resource.

Dr. Gold runs Pedigree Family Research and History Preservation in Carmel.  She has her Ph.D in research methods from UCLA, was on the faculty at Georgetown, and was a visiting lecturer at Harvard University.
