Crazee 4 Art

We may not have enough snow to build a snowman, but we have plenty of paint to paint one. Taking inspiration from Disney animators, the subject of the next BCPL Crazee 4 Art project is Olaf, the zany frozen character who dreams of hot summer days under the sun. Children aged 4 to 8 will make their Olaf masterpiece on Monday, February 8.  Youths aged 9 to 16 will paint Olaf on Thursday, February 11. Both programs begin at 4:00 pm. Attendance is free. The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program has been helping people prepare their tax returns since 1968. Last year, the program helped approximately 2.6 million low/moderate-income taxpayers prepare their 2014 returns at more than 5,000 sites nationwide. Volunteers from AARP will be at the Bradford County Public Library on Thursdays, starting February 4, to assist with filing tax returns. The service is free for qualified filers. To schedule an appointment, call 904-368-3911 or sign up at the library’s front desk.

The library is hosting a Fancy Nancy themed tea party for girls and boys aged 4 to 12 at 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 18. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in their silliest, fancy dress up costumes and bring their favorite Fancy Nancy book.

There will be a fun craft to do, finger foods to enjoy, and tea to wash it all down.

Seating is limited, so make a reservation by signing up in the library’s children’s department.

The adventure continues for BCPL’s teen book club, The Page Turners, as they follow Thomas and the Gladers through the Scorch Trials. Teens will read and review the dystopian science fiction novel by James Dasher, at 3:30 pm on February 22. It is the second book in the popular Maze Runner series.
