]]>Show us how stories spark growth in your life by entering this year's Summer Photo Challenge, ‘Seeds of Inspiration'. Submit a photograph that represents something you learned, discovered, or were inspired to do because of reading. Whether it’s a project sparked by a favorite book, a peaceful reading moment in nature, or a scene that symbolizes personal growth, we’d love to see your creative interpretation. You’re welcome to include the book that inspired you in the photo or share its title when you submit your image.

This contest is open to teens and adults of all experience levels, from beginners to professionals. It doesn’t matter whether you shoot with a smartphone or a professional camera - use whatever equipment you have. Submit your photo in .jpeg format to: cplibraryphotos@gmail.com. Please include your first and last name in the body of the email. Submissions begin Monday, June 1st and are due before 5:00pm on Tuesday, June 30th. Limit one submission per person.

Submissions will be reviewed for appropriate content, adherence to the theme, and image quality. Qualifying images will be posted to the Cameron Park Library Facebook page, where the community will vote on the winner. Voting opens on July 6th and closes on July 20th at 5:00pm. The winner will receive a prize!

]]>Join us at our poetry group, Thursdays at Two. The group meets every 1st & 3rd Thursday at 2:00 here at the library. Patterned after the popular Placerville group, Tuesdays at Two, the Georgetown Library version will be led by Taylor Graham, EDC Poet Laureate from 2016 - 2018. If you love poetry, write poetry, or dream about writing poetry, this group is for you! Assigned subjects will be offered to write poems about and then the poems are brought back to the group. This is not really a critique process but reading poems aloud to the group is a good way to hear what's working and what isn't. Participants also read from a list of established poets or bring poetry to share. There is also a 'word can'. Everyone pulls a word or phrase from the can and then uses them to write a poem in 10-15 minutes. This produces some strange and wild stuff and a lot of laughter!!!!

Learn about the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging using recycled materials in this family friendly class presented by Natasha Liu!

Natasha is a member of Ikebana International Sacramento Chapter and has 14 years of experience practicing the art of Sogetsu Ikebana. Ikebana has taught her to slow down and appreciate the things that nature provides.

Materials will be provided to make your own flower arrangement in a recycled soda can!

Open to all ages, though geared for ages 5 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration required, one registration per family. Register early for this class as seating is limited. Please cancel your reservation if you cannot make the class to allow others to join in the fun.

Patterned after the popular Placerville group, Tuesdays at Two, the Georgetown Library version will be led by Taylor Graham, EDC Poet Laureate from 2016 - 2018. If you love poetry, write poetry, or dream about writing poetry, this group is for you! Assigned subjects will be offered to write poems about and then the poems are brought back to the group. This is not really a critique process but reading poems aloud to the group is a good way to hear what's working and what isn't. Participants also read from a list of established poets or bring poetry to share. There is also a 'word can'. Everyone pulls a word or phrase from the can and then uses them to write a poem in 10-15 minutes. This produces some strange and wild stuff and a lot of laughter!!!!

Ages 9 - 14 (or 4th through 8th grade) are invited to join the library's Dungeons & Dragons Club, a eight-session campaign filled with creativity, teamwork, and imagination.

Sessions meet every other Saturday from 1:00 - 3:30pm, beginning on September 12 and running until December 19

Our Dungeon Master will be Michael Schaefer, a former El Dorado County Library employee and D&D afficionado who will be showing us how to play! Meetings will take place in the library's teen corner.

]]>Join us at our poetry group, Thursdays at Two. The group meets every 1st & 3rd Thursday at 2:00 here at the library. Patterned after the popular Placerville group, Tuesdays at Two, the Georgetown Library version will be led by Taylor Graham, EDC Poet Laureate from 2016 - 2018. If you love poetry, write poetry, or dream about writing poetry, this group is for you! Assigned subjects will be offered to write poems about and then the poems are brought back to the group. This is not really a critique process but reading poems aloud to the group is a good way to hear what's working and what isn't. Participants also read from a list of established poets or bring poetry to share. There is also a 'word can'. Everyone pulls a word or phrase from the can and then uses them to write a poem in 10-15 minutes. This produces some strange and wild stuff and a lot of laughter!!!!

Join the quest!

Ages 9 - 14 (or 4th through 8th grade) are invited to join the library's Dungeons & Dragons Club, a eight-session campaign filled with creativity, teamwork, and imagination.

Sessions meet every other Saturday from 1:00 - 3:30pm, beginning on September 12 and running until December 19

Our Dungeon Master will be Michael Schaefer, a former El Dorado County Library employee and D&D afficionado who will be showing us how to play! Meetings will take place in the library's teen corner.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

**Please only register if you can commit to attending every session.**

Session dates are 9/12, 9/26, 10/10, 10/24, 11/7, 11/21, 12/5, and 12/19.
